When I design experiences with technology, I'm intentional about defining the role technology plays in the experience. I want the technology to deepen a user's experience with the story being told. I also strive to write the story to be emotionally moving, promiting positive social change. These design objectives are fundamental to my creative process. To demonstrate that, I took a card deck I've personally used to process my emotions and experimented with Augmented Reality to deepen my experience with each emotion card.

Using Quill VR by Smoothstep, I drew and animated in 3D space. Then I imported the models and animations into Unity.
Quill demo coming soonI used the Vuforia Unity Plugin to integrate augmented reality capabilities into my Unity application. It allowed me to track and augment real-world 2D images such as a card.
Users can create an abstract art piece with each of their emotions- scanning a card and then removing it to place the 3D art anywhere in 3D space.
When done, users scan the "Breathe" card to sit with all of their emotions and acknowledge the prescence and importance of each one existing together.
